[ Steve’s already smiling at the way he looks away, so when he pushes the chair back for him it only grows and settles on his lips. It’s something Logan has gotten very good at, helping him smile easier probably without even realizing that he’s doing so. ]

Yeah, I’m fine. [ It’s such a regular response for whenever someone asks, that it comes out before he can even properly think how honest he wants to be in his answer. Depending on how closely Logan is watching him, he’ll be able to see the way his features tighten for a moment as he leans back against the chair, stretching out his leg slightly in the process. It’s meant to be a ‘smooth’ way to try to ease the way it aches, but he has been standing for way too long for it to be a seamless transition.

That’s why, after a pause, he shrugs slightly as he re-thinks his answer. ]

I’ve been needing to sit for a minute, it just ... wasn’t working out.

[ He doesn’t want to stay on that subject, though, and how easily he can forego his own comfort for the sake of his responsibilities and instead just smiles at Logan. ]
