[ That Steve falls asleep in the middle of a documentary about deer doesn't really catch Logan by surprise. In fact, even if part of him is tempted to call Steve out for this shit when he wakes up, a bigger part of him enjoys the way that Steve feels against his shoulder-- enjoys the fact that he's so calm, so relaxed, and figures that even if it'll make him feel a little stiff in the morning sleeping with his back this straight, it's probably worth it.

Somewhere in the few hours that the man sleeps, Logan reaches with his arm to wrap it gently around his shoulders and hold him steady, driven by some long-forgotten instinct of intimacy. And not long after he's chosen to do that, Logan falls asleep, apparently caring little for shutting the television and its mundane ocean creature montage off.

The only reason he wakes up later on, long before the sun rises, is because his watch beeps to remind him to take his medicine. Logan stirs, stares at the lit-up digital face, and then shuts it off.

He hasn't noticed Steve's waking up. The programme on the television's gone to something small-time and relatively uninteresting, given the hour. But he moves very, very carefully to get Steve to lie on his side on the sofa while he creeps to the kitchen (it's separated from the living room by just a counter).

Logan fills a glass with water and takes a banana from his fruit bowl, and with pills in his palm he makes his way back to the couch and sits on the armrest to eat the fruit before taking his medicine.

He considers Steve again, and. ]
...you're awake, aren't you?
